I have a 1975 xs650 and I actually found an article about boiling them in lemon juice and it worked like a charm cleaned them all the way through and even got into the parts the carb cleaner wouldn't.
So when I start riding and the bike warms up the engine revs up to 4000 to 5000 rams when in neutral or first with clutch engaged can some one help? It's a 1975 xs650 original 4500 miles on it
Hey guys so I found the issue of the overflowing carb lol there is a pin hole on the top of the float.. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to spend 50 bucks on a new one?
Yes my front brake line is... Well... Not there lol and tires are definitely getting replaced right now I want to be able to start it first kick which I can but also not have gas pouring at the bottom haha not much is wrong with this bike but taking one step at a time!
This is awesome news lol I felt like everytime I turned both petcocks on it was too much gas I was only using the left petcock and no issues until something stopped the float! So thank you!
Awesome thanks! I took off tank and drained it I took off petcocks took of carbs.. I'm going to do a clean through everything and replace hoses and get in line filters I will work on getting pictures up and will keep you guys up to date! Thanks again!
So there was very little gas that was left in the tank but when we shined a light in it was spotless. Other thing is would I be able to get those in line filters at local parts store? Or do they have to be special.?
Awesome! Thank you I will drain the tank tonight and pull the petcocks off and clean.. Now this maybe a stupid question but what do a shake and rinse the tank out with Hahah
