I own a Canadian '84 with a drum brake mag rear wheel, and I'd be willing to trade the mags for spokes.

I owned a '81 350 LC and the brakes were great - dual disks up front on a light bike stopped real quick. The power band was the usual 'light switch', and keep shifting. A really fun and nimble bike.

Thanks for the suggestions It is definitely tight, and there's a black plastic coating on top of the nut with the wire sticking out of it. Does that peel back easily and get re-used? It seems tightly adhered.

Nobody had this problem before?? If not, does anyone know what keeps the shifter shaft in place inside the engine? Is it a clip or spring? How do I check that? I've never been inside the engine before but willing to try. Thanks

Hi everyone. A new problem has cropped up - some kind of rattling from the gear shifter. When I put some mild pressure on it the noise mostly goes away. The rattling is in all gears and comes and goes with certain RPM. What could be causing this and how is this fixed? Thanks, Ed

SOLVED I think I know what was causing this - the kickstand switch. It came to the point of stalling when switching into gear every time, so after the 20th try - bing - on went the light above my head! The switch has been just dangling there since I got it - I guess the screws fell out - so...
