    Rotella T4 15W-40?

I don't have many miles on it in my XS yet but I have ran it in other bikes with no problems. It is Jaso Ma and MA2 approved so is rated for wet clutches. I am also running it in the primary of my Harley with no problems with the clutch. Actually feels better than it Did with Red Line primary...

Side covers to go on as soon as the badges are painted. Just some carb adjustments to complete and it will be a rider.

Almost done, and it runs. Worst thing is that it starts better than my 99 Harley. Probably has better brakes as well.

Thanks for all the kind words. Tins have been painted and waiting to go on. I will probably put 3m on the tank where the seat always rubs. The mufflers are the repops from XSdirect, unfortunately the left muffler does not fit properly. Now it is all the fiddly little stuff, cables...

It was retired in 88 or 89. Spent the next 25 years or so in a shed slowly rusting. I brought it home and have been restoring it for the last few years as money allows.

    Trip down memory lane

Spent some time with my dad yesterday going through some old boxes. Found pictures from out first big trip together in 1986. Getting ready to leave. Went from Calgary AB. to Yellowstone, Craters of the Moon and back home. Taken from the trip to Alaska in 2000. I really miss the days...

    Canadian colors?

Well it has taken some time, and lots of phone calls but finally have the answer. A family member found a picture of the bike from when it was originally purchased. The badges were originally red on red.

What would cause my tach needle to bounce?

We used to see that a lot with speedometers in cars way back when. Most common cause was either a dry cable, used a light grease that was made specifically for that. Other common cause was a cable with a tight bend or opposing bends in a small area of the cable.

    Canadian colors?

While restoring the XS2 I am ready to paint the emblems for the side covers. Only problem is all of the ones I have ever seen are red and white, mine appear to be red on red. Was the Canadian bikes different?
