now that im thinking about it...if i use my xs 650 triple tree and then use forks and a wheel from a diff bike, couldnt the width of the forks differ from bike to bike therefore not line up with my xs 650 triple making it useless?
hmmmm i like the idea of using the forks, caliper and front wheel from another bike. seems like the easiest way to find a set up that im looking for. thanks so much!
I am wondering if anyone knows if spoke rims from other bikes, yamaha or not, will fit on the xs 650 without any or very little (easy, simple) custom fabrication. also the same for forks. I need fork tubes only that will fit into the bottoms of my forks and also fit in the tiple tree. its a 1980...
wow...ok so i am thinking about doing the same thing. i picked up a welder and would like to build a hardtail from scratch and weld it onto my frame. i have been doing the same thing, asking all the questions, and to me it seems like it IS possible to do but you need to be cautious. everyone...
Wow, ok that makes sense. I guess some people just are not trained and dont know any better. i will mention that the zero's need to be there at the next dmv i go to if they cant find it on their own this time.

hmmmm so this isnt that uncommon? why would it be that one dmv does not recognize it and another would? dont they all use the same system? is there something they have to do in order to find out more info about the vin so that it comes up? anything i can tell them to help them to figure this all...
