UPDATE!!! 2/10/14
So I took the jug back to the machine shop and they have to remove .006 to get it true again. they were super cool and did it that same day. I reassembled the engine and it starts right up. I took it for a spin around the block and it feels very strong. I do have some...
I want to thank everyone for the feedback and insight. I'm going to call the machine shop tomorrow and probably take it back to them. 650 central offers a thicker overbore headgasket which might help. i'll keep everyone posted.
these are NOT stock jugs. I purchased LA cylinder big bore jugs and had the machine shop install them. i can't remember if they were flush or not from the begining
please see my thread.

I need to find a good engine cylinder as I need to have this motor fixed asap.. any help would be great.
the sleeves are recessed a tad into the jug. the depth is about the thickness of a sheet of paper.
now the question is. should I try and fix this or do I just get a stock jug and go back to normal
I really hope I don't have to replace the sleeves. they weren't cheap plus the 350.00 I paid to have them installed. I know the machine shop is going to try and blame this on me.
after 300 miles on my new engine build the headgasket blew. L.A cylinder sleeves installed by the same machine shop I always use. I'm running wiesco 80mm pistons. you can see near all the stud holes the gasket was leaking. these bigger sleeves go right to the edge of the locating dowels. I also...
I'm starting to think this is my issue. I have a very slight ridge from the cylinder to the jug. it's very small, but enough to grab a finger nail with. the jug is going back to the machine shop.
did you ever get this issue sorted. I'm have the exact same issue with my motor, except my right inner stud. rephrased 750cc motor just blew the headgasket. 2 inches of the fire ring got blown out. the head nut kept coming loose.
never torque fasteners dry... As a Mercedes Benz master tech I've performed extensive amounts of engine work. the bolt heads and threads are always lubricated to give a true reading. nowadays everything is torque angle is this is more accurate.
