For Sale - 5, count em, 5 XS650s up for sale!

Yes indeed they all did sell. Believe it or not a man from Norway bought them (I'm in California) and is having them all shipped over in a few days. It worked out great! He'll be stoked to have them all.

For Sale - 5, count em, 5 XS650s up for sale!

Here you go. sorry about that. All of these could be runners with a little love. One has 20K miles, another 25K miles and the third has 12K miles. They need work of course, but I am 100% confident that it would be a matter of tearing down a bit and cleaning it up and putting it back together...

For Sale - 5, count em, 5 XS650s up for sale!

I think we've miscommunicated here. Not a single one of the bikes I'm selling are up and running. They all need work so if you're looking for running bikes I can't help there.

For Sale - 5, count em, 5 XS650s up for sale!

I just said that I'll get some pictures of the other bikes. Three of the 4 aside from the 76 are all black specials and they're all 82-83. Not exactly sure of the year of the fifth one, but it is the most rough of the lot. Definitely three of these could be good runners with a little love...

    XS650 Craigslist postings depository

I have decided to let my bike go. It is good as new. Everything is new and it could be a show bike or a daily rider. I'd love for it to go to an XS 650 nerd. This is my fifth XS and I love them. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/5181946772.html

    A cafe for the ages

You are and you aren't Brassneck. Yes there are those "cups" there, but they actually come apart and the top and bottom, leaving the exposed sleeves raw (thankfully). I just took them out, put the sleeves in the vice and grabbed the sawzall! Took one and one half inch off the bottom of each...

    Breaking In an Engine?

Everyone does something dumb sometimes. I was just trying to get the carbs dialed in and brought it to a buddy's place for a second set of eyes. I ride it. See? It is idling too high, maybe lean. He rides it, Yeah Pat it is idling high. We hook it up to the vacuum gauges and low and behold, one...

    A cafe for the ages

I have come to the conclusion that this bike would be happier (and prettier) with clip ons vs. the clubmans it has now. I realized that the clip ons will not go under the triple tree unless I get rid of that original sleeve that holds the headlight. Then I thought about it and I think I can...

    A cafe for the ages

Almost forgot about the chaneg tot he exhaust. I decided it was just a bit too loud so I cut the ends off and threw on a pair of SS mufflers and wrapped the pipes. It is still pretty loud, but not like it was before. Just might help performance a bit too. I am building a 78 CB650 now too that I...

    A cafe for the ages

Finally had a chance to make the seat hoop and mount the brake light. I think it turned out pretty well. I got a little ahead of myself and hadn't yet installed new chain and sprockets, but I am doing that now. Just needs some light tuning and she is up! Had to cut the kicker off and just make...

What is up with this Bendix Gear slop?

Well the great, great news is that the play in the gears does not appear to matter. It is starting MUCH better than it was before. I would not say it is perfect, but I'bve gone from free spinning, to ineffective grinding, to it'll start but sound awful, to now it starts very well. Not sure I am...
