Shortly after posting this I went out to check the sluggish beast...very surprised to find a bad plug. First time ever. Replaced the fancy iridium with a common copper bpr6 and bingo....now runs like a rocket....do I feel stupid! I guess it goes to the old saying, most carb issues are electrical :)
So here is my project...1974. I continue to struggle with carb issues from last year since doing what amounts to an amateur restoration...funny thing is, I enjoy this bike more than my triumph...go figure.

I am working on what I hope to be a café project...I have a bad leak in one seal of the front shocks. Looks as though someone ripped out the seal without taking the circlips out first..the cast metal is damaged and I don't think repairable.
If I am going to replace these front forks (both)...
Thanks guys...and thanks lower c...my only issue at present is having it bog down at higher revs...for example, if I crank the throttle it's blahhhhhhhhhh until I let up and it slowly builds....not so bad if I build up speed slowly...the carbs are mikes knock off performance slider carbs...I...
