Howdy, I have an 83 XS650 that I am converting from a 6 plate clutch to a 7 plate clutch. I've got all the parts (I think) except for the earlier clutch hub. I'm looking for a 74-79 inner clutch hub - if you have one or know where I might find one please let me know. Much thanks, S

Retired - I did get the 2nd stator from the same place - Hugh himself replaced it at no extra charge. Maybe when the first stator went bad - it damaged the regulator...and it hung on as long as it could til it died on my yesterday? I dunno - just a theory. Problem is - I need the regulator...

Hey gang, Hope Friday is finding everyone well. Got an 83 XS that I'm going kick only on. I've removed the starter and the gears on the left side of the engine, but had questions about removing the gears on the right side of the engine. I've read a bunch on this forum about this topic...

Gary, The threads were fine, I test fitted (both) nuts before install. I contacted Mikes and let them know - they were very suprised it happened. I think from now on I'm going to try to use NOS parts when I can! SOMMS

Dirty Dog, No loctite! I was just mocking it up when this happened. Things are looking good now though. I am Carbon said he had an extra that he was going to send me. 1000 thanks amigo! Gotta love the XS650 brotherhood! SOMMS

Gary, My target was between 6-7 ft/lbs. Nothing too crazy. FYI-this thing actually broke when I was LOOSENING it. That's right I was backing it off and the whole nut/thread came off in the socket! I don't really know what to tell you - other than stay with the stock stuff amigo! C

Amigos, Quick public service announcement and a request. Did the Hugh's Handbuilt PMA swap with the Pamco e-advancer. All went well. My bike is an 82 and didn't have the timing advance rod so I ordered one (part #14-0650) from MikesXS. Got about 50 miles on the bike then the rod broke...
