yeah, I'm wondering if it's not the tension on the starter gear clip (with the hairpin bend) that's the issue. but as @motormike says, it might be the round spring behind the gear not being strong enough to keep the starter gear engaged.
Starter gear on this is a pita. We've replaced the starter gear and spring with new gear from MikesXS. We've also tensioned the spring on a vice as per other posts on this forum as well as located the spring according to the tech bulletin release from Yammy in the 70s but we're still getting the...
Hey team. I've had another crack at the starter motor. We've used a new spring and starter gear from MikesXS and put some additional tension into the spring. We're still getting this result. This isn't normal, right? Ideas? (click the link to see the short 9mb video)...
ok I don't think the Brembo calliper and MikesXS disc are compatible. I'm going back to the stock disc and it's definitely much closer. Still a bit of tweaking to be done but I'll modify the calliper first as per Pandemonium instructions and check fit. I'd rather have the Brembo on it than...
Hi GeorgeOC. Did you work out a rotor upgrade solution for 35mm forks? I'm running brembo and pandemonium adaptor but can't find a rotor to work with it. HAve the MikesXS floating rotor but it needs a fair amount of spacer to make work and will push the rotor off the lip of the mags (unproven...
I know there’s a long list of performance rotor upgrades that have the right diameter and center hole width but is there one that also has the right offset out of the box? I’m wanting to find one that works with brembo 4 pot caliper and adapter kit from pandemonium. Their kit has been designed...
Hi team. I need some help.
I have an '81 XS650 SH and am in the process of upgrading the front brake. Here's what I have.
* alloy (mag) wheel.
* MikesXS floating disc rotor.
* Brembo 65mm hole pattern 4 piston brake calliper.
* Pandemonium cycles Brembo brake adapter kit.
More info.

Have searched the web but couldn't see if Brembo stamps part numbers on the calipers. Do you know if they do? If so I'll ask the seller for P/N and can confirm the spec.
Nutshell.
I'm upgrading front brake.
MikesXS drilled disc and 13mm Yammy MC
Pandamonium brake kit
Braided lines.
The question I have is that I've got access to 2x Brembo callipers for a good price. 65mm which is the required bolt pattern. Now everyone on here has been talking about GOLD...
Hey mate. I'm heading down a similar path at the moment. If you could write up what you did to make the brembo/pandemonium kit/mikes XS rotor work, would be appreciated...even a few bullet points to steer in the right direction might save me some mucking around.
