Good eye. Those are for my battery tender. That way I do not have to take the battery out to charge if need be. If you look closely you can see towards the left side of that picture a switch. This switch is my ignition switch. I have no key ignition on this bike. I may change that later on...
I created a custom seat pan from fiberglass. The front of the seat uses the stock bolt by the gas tank and the rear is held by a bolt that goes through the rear fender.
I have had my xs650 for 4 years now and have spent a ton of time working on it as many here have. Finally this past month I have made a couple of key changes that have really made my bike much more enjoyable. The first change was swapping out my BS34 carbs with ones from a 2004 EX500. This...
mrriggs- Thanks for the suggestion. Timing is good. I got it running correctly after figuring out the carbs were set way to lean. I adjusted the needle position and mixture screw to run more rich. Now the bike runs like I have never felt before. Completely renews my interest in this bike...

Anyone just sitting there waiting for a part or parts to come in today? I am anxiously waiting for USPS to drop off my EX500 carbs. I had the jets and needles delivered yesterday. I feel like a kid watching the clock on the last day of school.
Good question. I assume you wouldn't notice. It is hard to tell seeing that you wouldn't be able to see te headlight as you ride. My guess it wouldn't happen much at all seeing as it is hard enough to find neutral on these things.
Thank you for the replies. Blue the link you sent me clarified my questions and I now have it working correctly. Thanks again for the help! My biggest question was on which post to put the ground. I am running a small battery and wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting juice when trying to start...
I have been trying to get my headlight to be turned off when in neutral. I tried following a earlier tread about this but for some reason it isn't working. Below is the relay I am using. To start out should this relay work...
