So I have a DNA Springer on my bike. Seen maybe 250 miles and always kept spotless clean and in garage. Last month I noticed the powder coat was all rough and bubbly. Well now the powder is falling right off and it has lots of rust under the powder. Anyone ever had this? I just emailed the vender I bought it from and I wont say who it was unless they screw me over on it.

Its not the vendor...its the china man that did the work. Do you think when there being made in china they care about prep on the product or the numbers there putting out. I would be more worried bout the sub par metal that's gonna snap in half over a pothole...not the paint...oh wait they say powder coat in the ad.

I didn't buy it from the manufacturer I bought it from the vender so I expect them to stand behind what they sell. They can deal with China after they take care of me

This brings to mind keystone aftermarket parts for collision shops....there new crime bumpers come pre rusted on the inside...they don't last 6 months before popping

Yeah it's a crime, I bought a new Curt Trailer hitch, same deal "powder coat" falling off in big sheets. No surface prep on the steel they probably didn't even wash off the oil from the steel mill. Used to work in a USA jack plant, all parts went through a three part hot phosphate bath before they went to welding. I have been abusing a 2 ton floor jack from that plant for 40 years (yeah, stolen back in the day, sigh) the paints still on it.

They moved all the manufactoring equipment to Mexico. Wonder it they still use the parts wash?

Just wanted to give a little update on this. Been talking back and forth with the vender I bought it from (TcBros). They contacted DNA and DNA did agree to warranty it BUT i need to remove it,box it and ship it back so they can inspect it before they agree to replace it. I would rather them send me a replacement and i could send mine back after I receive the new one but i think there offer is fair enough.
Winter is coming real quick and i don't want to miss the last couple weeks of riding dealing with this so i have decided to not send it back. Once winter gets here I am going to just powder coat it myself.
TcBros came through as I knew they would and DNA did the right thing just not in a way that is convenient to me and that is ok, My problem not theirs. I'm satisfied.

Your a better man than I. Whether it's parts for my rig, car or bikes I quite often pay more for parts I need from the dealer just so I can have "support" when I need it. Ebay or online warehouse's consistently have lower prices than any of the dealers I deal with BUT! I expect that whole "If you have any concerns with this product, please do not contact the vendor, contact insert manufacture name here first" kinda crappola from an online parts source NOT a dealer I deal with face to face.

TC Bros bought it from DNA, you bought it from TC Brothers. If it were me? I would be banging on TC Bros doors to correct the problem. They make a profit from the sale they should have to earn it when poo hits the fan.

On a side note: I have been looking to get a bunch of items from TC Bros since they are close to me and I like quite a few of their items. I am however holding off for now.

Make it right or don't do it at all is what I tell anybody who listens.... Perhaps TC Bros needs the same advise.

I agree for the most part but i have always been completely happy with Tc and feel they did try to take care of it. They did offer to blast and recoat it for me at a "discounted" price but that wasn't going to happen.
I guess the 100% right thing for Tc to have done is replace it and deal with DNA themselves but that wasn't offered.
I wont hesitate to make more purchases with Tc though.

Haha nope as much as I hate to admit it she's more of a trailer queen than a daily rider. Bairley 300 miles on it this summer. Not much of a stereotypical "biker" here I guess lol.
