I am due for a new phone. Sticking with the Android platform. Got it narrowed to the samsung galaxy or the HTC one. Any suggestions?

I have a Samsung/Boost phone. It's quirky, but gets the job done. $55 a month, unlimited everything. Contracts can suck it.

Heard a review on the new big screen HTC (way bigger than a iphone) , pc guru is very impartial and gave it a glowing report. Take one for a test ride first.

I replaced a Samsung Galaxy with the new HTC One. Way, way better. The HTC One has bigger screen, super fast processor and most of all battery life. Oh, and a really great camera. T-Mobile 4G

I have been leaning towards that HTC. I used one the other day. It was waaayyyy better than my Sony. I just worry about battery life.

If you can get the HTC ONE it's the best droid out right now. If you can stand to wait the quad core phones should be coming out just around the corner.

the samsung galaxy is nice but no removable memory. One of the nice things about the Galaxy is that it's the current Google phone so it'll get the new OS upgrades first.

best bet is to go try them out in store and see what you prefer.

One of the on going issues I had with the Samsung Galaxy was frequently lock-up's and pulling the battery was the ONLY way to reboot. Over the same period of time my wife's HTC never once locked-up.
As you said the HTC One does not have a removable battery. But, so far, it has not locked-up or froze.
True it does not have a SD card slot, but seems to have plenty of internal memory. I already have a 100 +- photos in the Gallery.
My days start at 5:00 am and go to midnight. The battery lasts all day and the some.
My suggestion is, go try one.

The HTC comes with a 16g hard drive. I only have an 8g removable one now, and it has been plenty big.

Remember when motorola had the first flip phones. Man, the choice was easy then. This sucks, and what a stupid issue to have. :banghead:  :D

What about the fact that it has no external memory card or removeable battery?

This is why I immediately tossed the HTC off my list, I'm also looking to get a new Android phone, my Galaxy I is about 1.5 years old and while it still works most of the time, it is beginning to get temperamental.

The Galaxy III, which depending on where you live may be available already is most likely what I'm going to be picking up. Unless I decide to wait for a quad-core.

Battery life is my only reservation with the Galaxy III, I've heard it is not stellar. However, between it and the other smartphone options, it seems to be the one I would prefer. One HUGE plus is the Gorilla Glass front. I have had many friends crack screens (or, mostly, the plastic over the screen). My Galaxy I has Gorilla Glass on it and I've bounced it off the ground countless times. Not a scratch on it.

If I was going to switch carrier, Verizon with the Droid RAZR MAXX would hands down be my first choice.
