Interesting that you should pick that page 2M.....

I always assumed that the image of the Clutch washers on the table ( fig 7.18) belonged to 5Twins as his watermark copyright signiture is applied every time that he posts it.
Is the copyright Hans or 5Ts ?

Figure 7-18 on page 91 belongs to me. It is Abb. 6-45 on page 100 in the German book and you can download it among all the other pictures in the German book from my website http://www.hjpahl.com/xs650motor_galerie/galerie.html
I rather thought that it did Hans. Thank you for the confirmation.
Various members over the years including 5T have worked hard to translate your superb manual from German into English for the benefit of all of us at xs650.com. We never dreamed that there would come a time that we would get a book in English. I'm only sorry that it seems to have been at the expense of your business.

Awesome! Now THATS a Shop Manual. Just ordered mine from Amazon.

Rant warning:
Speaking of Shop Manuals... ever try getting one for a new-ish car lately? I tried ordering a Shop Manual for our 2015 Jeep Compass just after we bought it (used) early last year. Nope. JEEP only sells a CD, for $150 :yikes:. And it has to be used in a web browser, IE7 (!!) , NOT Windows 10 compatible. No pdf available. If you want electrical diagrams (which is what I needed, and did not find out until AFTER I ordered the CD), you have to pay for a 3 day ($35) or 7 day ($70), or 30 day ($250), or one year ($1800!) subscription for access to everything online, then using your current W10 browser, you can access the JEEP website to download them. I paid for the three day, upgraded my Internet Provide speed package, and spent a long weekend downloading electrical and related items. I had to go this route trying to solve an electrical problem, where the dealer quoted me "at least" 6 hours to troubleshoot, at $150/hour. :poo: It is the most infuriating system and manual I have ever used. Since then (as in I just discovered this morning...) an independent company has apparently created a clone, dumbed down version of pages from the website, and made a 12800 page, 200MB pdf that they sell on Ebay for $20. Definitely not the same, but usable, although with a lot of "GENERAL INFORMATION ONLY" notices in big letters. Just ordered that as well. That said, even with a 12800 page Shop Manual, I'd bet that there will not be many 2015 Jeep Compasses on the road 40 years from now. Says lots about the durability and general simplicity of our older bikes.
End of rant. Sorry.

This XS650 Manual appears a gem. Thanks Hans.

Hans, don't apologize for the price--for a high quality specialty publication, it's more than reasonable, it's almost a gift. I'm going to order a copy from Amazon right away, and will write a review for the next issue of the Yamaha 650 Society News. Thank you for your efforts.

Ditto. I could:
1) print off the old PDF as single pages and run through $40+ of cartridge toner at home
2) take the old PDF to Kinko's and get charged $15-20+ for them to print it, and have the hassle of getting there, waiting for it, and ending up with marginal binding
3) Buy the book from Amazon, support the author, and have it delivered to my doorstep

For me it was a no-brainer (though I try not to send Bezos too much money). Your book is well worth the price. No apology needed.

I’m glad that you consider the price of the book as justified.

To show the disassembly and the assembly of the engine step by step, a lot of photographs are necessary. Since the space for the photographs in a printed book is limited, they have to be quite small. In an e-book you can enlarge them to show the details. Amazon offers a free app to read e-books on several devices such as your iPhone or your computer. This may be also a reason, that an e-book can be an alternative to a printed book.

Just ordered mine from Amazon with prime it should be here Friday! Thanks Hans. I know I have read through some of the "translated" versions of your manual in the past. :banghead: I'm glad that you posted up the link to the english book. :bow2:
