Good morning y’all. I don’t use facebook, but I do have an Instagram account and found Mailman on there. We got to chatting and he suggested I start a thread. This will be for good old fashioned fish stories, memories, and personal best photos! Here in NYS the lake run rainbow trout are up in the streams spawning, so here’s a few pictures.

Stalking these giants in 4 foot wide, inches-deep brush lined tributaries is a truly memorable experience, reminiscent of sloshing along creeks with a stick, hook, and worms as a child.
I also do a ton of stream/river kayak fly fishing here on the Susquehanna for smallmouth bass and it’s feeder streams, most notably Catatonk creek. Here’s last season’s top 3!

I went up to Pulaski for the first time last year to hit the tail end of the king salmon and coho salmon spawning run, and had a blast. We stayed way up in the hills and tributaries of salmon river to avoid the crowds and it payed off with some monster fish

Once the spring rainbow trout run is over we spend a good amount of time bank fishing the Susquehanna for channel cats

This ought to get the ball rolling! Calling all anglers, let’s see those fish and hear those epic tails! Tales? Nope, tails.

Alright! Good fish Willis! We catch a lot of crappie thru the ice, but never Budweiser sized! That bass is a tank too  it’s almost time to grab some tackle, tuck a rod in a backpack and get that xs out to the local fishing hole

Greasy,
You are an absolute fish slayer! I have never even seen trout that big, let alone caught one. I admire anyone with fly fishing skills. You should post some photos of the flys you tie. They are works of art my friend!
You know you need the hat right?

Hey thanks Bob, if you’re ever in upstate ny in the spring or fall you’ve got a good chance of laying into one of those hogs (if you’re with the right guide, that is) as long as you’re willing to put in the miles! We go as remote as possible. And I’ll post some flies this afternoon! I’d have to hide that hat in my tacklebox, my lady’s got a PRETTY good sense of humor, but a short fuse to match. And sharper teeth then most of the fish I catch..

Hey Greasy, let me know if you ever come across one of these!

Jeremy wade! That guy’s one in a million. For those wondering wtf that thing is, it’s a Goliath tigerfish. It’s one of the main reasons I’d love to fish the Congo some day, and also one of the main reasons i probably won’t

The fish that come up out of the lakes to spawn here dwarf even the larger local stream trout, but we still manage a few ~20 inch stream fish every year! The waterways and weather we have here is just really conducive to good trout fishing
