Long distance trips

Yeah, my haunches were vibrating for days afterwards. And going that fast for so many miles gives you a thousand mile stare and a deep desire for more wind in your face. No matter how fast you go, the average is 50 mph. You have to stop for food, gas and a bathrooms with a 3 gal. tank.
Truth! I made several trips from E.Rutherford To St.Pete Fl on my '51 panhead. I felt I was doing good if I could maintain 50MPH average.

Ha! Another '51 Panhead!

Yup, took me almost 24 hours nonstop from Milwaukee to San Antonio, about 1,100 miles...

I'd pack some spare headlight bulbs. I've gone through 2 in less than a month. Spare cables, fuses, small multimeter. Flat repair kit, which includes some way to reinflate the tire. Decent set of tools, small but well chosen, if you don't have the stock toolkit. Picquic is a very good mutli-bit screwdriver.

I keep reading this and the list just gets bigger and bigger.

I have a saying every time I go camp/vacation/travel ... “if I don’t have it - I didn’t need it”

The list will go on and on... make sure you have what you need to survive, have a way out and beyond that, sometime just gotta make due and figure it out. Get creative. If you don’t have an imagination, start working on it haha.
