Hi

Anyone got any good suggestions how to get the seals out of the outer nut, this is the part that screws into the fork leg

Hope that makes sense?

Thanks

Ant

Which part are you talking about? Got any photos?

I have an XS2, my forks are different, I believe that’s just the fork seal that seals the lower leg to the fork tubes.
I got this tip from Gary. Clamp a tire iron in a vise , and use it to pry the seal out, being careful to protect the fork leg.

Is that what you’re trying to do?

Hi
Last time I did that and also on other Radial Seals
I Make a small hook at the end of a bicycle spoke .. Those are of a bit harder non rusting steel
When I Get it in behind the seal I turn it 90 degrees so it hook on to something -- there is a steel part inside
Yanking at it on the outside end holding that end with pliers.
Things happen if the rubber comes off then try again
perhaps a little with a small drift being careful not hitting the tube surface.
perhaps with a small drill on the metal. Carefully.
It will start mowing.
But if I remember correctly I have been able to use a large screwdriver akin the method in # 5
