Right cylinder has a misfire at idle and a large amount of backfiring when downshifting, cleaned the jetts on both carbs 3 times now starting to think thats not the issue... im running a heiden dyno jett kit, pods,and cut pipes on stock 81 special carbs. Bike runs fine otherwise it seems...

Hi guys, would like to take my 81 xs650 up the coast of California, but its got the stock sprockets in the front and rear i believe, and when i go on the free way at around 70-75mph its revving somewhat high, around 35-4k rpm, would like to be a lot lower if im going to riding long distance...
would like to remove the stock air box and use two cone filters, im new to carburetors so bare with me, but ive heard that you must rejet your carb if you get independent filters, anyone know the new jet sizes you need? is it that simple?
