ok so i just got done re cleaning the carbs re checked the float heights and every thing seems ok but the bike still wont run with the screws where they are supposed to be what should my next step be then

i read the carb guide i tried 2 and a 1/4 turns out and it wouldnt run at all. as i turned it out the idle went up and up until about where the previous owner had it set at six/7 turns out then it ran ok and the flat spot went away. so i need to rejet...

so today i finally got a chance to mess with the fuel screws on my 79. first i turned them in to see how far out they were and they were about 6 turns out from the seat. i know that is way to far. but i turned it out another turn and the flat spot off of idle went away. so then i took the carbs...

i just synced the the carbs. i haven't touched the mix screws because i don't understand the dead cylinder method. the electrode on the spark plug has a nice brown/tan color though

well i finally got to go for a ride that lasted more than twenty minutes today. i notice after i start it up and i blip the throttle it cuts out then revs up. and after the ride when i blip-ed the throttle it stayed revved up for a couple seconds then came down? . all i have is a after market...

when you stop dont just let up on the pedal. leave up slowly and it will get rid of that nasty crater. the crater is really weak and will crack

you are looking for a ac/dc machine with high freq if you want to weld aluminum. the high frequency is what keeps the arc established as it alternates between dc- and dc+ the only reason you run dc with aluminum is to ball your tungsten. hope that helps some

i just put a sportster tank with a on off reserve spot. but should i be shutting the petcock off when the bike isnt running?

its a 79 with 38s. do you usually shut off the petcock when the bike is off? i always have left them on. but with it off it has a slow drip. but i guess its time for a rebuild kit to see if that works. it seems like it only leaks when its on the sidestand though

well ive been trying to run down this problem for a while now. ive taken the carbs out twice now to clean them. the float needle has no groves in them but still when it sits on the sidestand fuel slowley leaks into the air filter and onto my garage floor and with the price of gas its getting old...

looking for a set of spoke wheels. or just the hubs as im going to re spoke them and put new rims on.

so ive been wanting to upgrade my ignition and i read up some on the duel output coils. i have a 79 what all would i need to do to put one in/wire it up? im not very good with ignition systems so a wireing diagram to wire it up would be good to also what coil should i buy
