    Clutch rod crankcase seal

Thanks Peanut, I assume the bush can't move back i.e. is seated allowing you to hammer something in to grasp it and pull it out. One more question before get stuck into it is:- I made the mistake of running the bike with the left side crankcase cover off………….result large pool of oil and the...

    Clutch rod crankcase seal

Hi MaxPete, just ordered x2 seals and one bush from Yambits, I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from them their stock is quite impressive. DanielBlack i would be interested in how you get on with the seal replacement, i ordered 2 as i expect a fight

    Clutch rod crankcase seal

Hi All, I have noticed a small oil leak from the clutch pushrod crankcase seal seal. Is this an easy part to replace and is there anywhere in the UK that i get hold of one. Cheers Andy

    charging circuit or battery ?

i might mount the rectifier onto the battery box after removing some paint so i get metal to metal with thermal paste and use that as a large heat sink. I was also thinking about using metal epoxy ?

    charging circuit or battery ?

Quick update and thanks to all you guys, new stator , brass screws re-installed / separate B circuit regulator and separate rectifier. All looks good with the bike on idle i see approx 12.8V if i rev it i get over 14V ( not sure if this is a bit high but i will see how it goes) the bike also...

    charging circuit or battery ?

regulator arrived today…………no diagram, it looks to have a general 3 pin arrangement for harnesses compared to other similar regulators i can find. From what i can find the below are the pin outs, part numbers are VRB191 DF i believe once i go back to the brass screws will connect to the outer...

    charging circuit or battery ?

i think i finally have it, just ordered the regulator type B and the rectifier i posted earlier. So i will go back to using the brass screws for the inner brush ( grounding it to case ) and then as i see it i will have the below, just hoping its easy to identify X and Y on the regulator i.e...

    charging circuit or battery ?

Thanks , i think as i can only find a B circuit regulator i.e. at least i know for certain what it is i will order that one i posted. I can see on it a metal track from one of the mounting holes so i guess a ground safety. I don't want to fry this stator for certain as it was hard to find this...

    charging circuit or battery ?

i have been doing some research, i think the regulator that came off the bike (Stanley) is simply regulating the voltage on the harness after the alternator i.e. it just sits across the batt positive and negative. If this correct then you might be right 5twins as it would not be controlling...

    charging circuit or battery ?

i fully agree, i can find the below but no luck with the regulator, i see the below and the one you posted have 5 connections is that 3 phases / one to batt pos / one to ground...

    charging circuit or battery ?

how hard can it be to install a regulator with only 2 wires ?????? when i connected the reg black lead to switched power and the case to ground it blew the main fuse. When i connected the yellow to switched power and the case to ground no voltage was seen out the black lead ( installed new fuse)...

    charging circuit or battery ?

ok thanks ……… i will try to wire as i said but these components are confusing i.e. the 2 separate components that came off the bike i.e. when the stator had a standard setup no nylon screws i believe from memory were wired , they both look solid state. As mentioned before the rectifier has a...

    charging circuit or battery ?

I wonder if i actually need a regulator as i have no accessories other than a horn i.e. no lights etc, so maybe i can get away with simply running switched power direct to the outer brush then as you say simply have the 3 phase wires to rec / red from rec to batt / black from rec to ground. hey...

    charging circuit or battery ?

i know this is rambling on but i now think that possibly this *(^&*^% reg/rec wiring is actually green earth etc etc thats the only way i explain that black wire i.e. it is actually possibly switched power to the outer brush in a normal non nylon screw setup. As i just cannot find any wiring...

    charging circuit or battery ?

couldn't resist it so just checked………… that black wire isn't providing a case ground on the reg/rec so no idea what its for ? the reg/reg is coated on something grey which is conductive so yes i need to provide a bare metal case connection to frame or direct to ground which i don't currently...

    charging circuit or battery ?

i will check tomorrow the reg/rec case to ground, that black wire i connected to directly to batt negative i suspect is providing the case ground but i will check. if the case is then i can't see any reason for not seeing a voltage at the brush inputs other than the green reg/rec output is duff...
