I really like the frame mod. I am curious why u decided to modify the bottom portion instead of just welding it as the instructions suggest. I ask because I have frame the PO chopped for a TC hardtail but would rather have a david bird so I was considering the same kinda mod.

I am going to get a bunch of non-running non xs' and jut put them around town in various spots. Maybe spray paint the tanks some funky colors and then send the city a bill for my "art" that inspires the community. Clean out my garage and make few dollars. Ill let uknow how it goes

On the front of the motor between the motor mounts will be the serial number. Get that number and search the site for "model id". It will give charts and other info to determine the year. As far parts go your gonna surely need - oil feed tube, ignition system, left side tappet cover , carbs...

I want to lower the front a bit. Can i just flip the upper tripple tree upside down? I figure its about the same as sliding the tubes up about an inch or so but this way they don't stick out the top of the tree. Only problem i see is mounting the gauges, but I don't have any of that stuff...
