No they were from a keystar carb kit suppled by yambits, 127.5 main 45 pilot, I think you are correct about the crud, but I am running filters so discounted that.

Just had a look at the mating large gear and it’s in good condition, the only observation is that you can move the large gear a fraction along the shaft, no rock on it just the tiny sideways movement.

Thanks again for all your help, I am going to get the rods changed and have been emailing companies for prices today. The main bearings seem fine to me, but a couple of the companies have recommended changing them as a matter of course, I assume who ever I pick to do the work will check them...
