Getting closer to riding this thing after 6 months of working on her. Put the exhaust together with a TC Brothers header kit and an old muffler off my CRF450 that was bent. It ain't real pretty, but I think with a little grinding and header paint it will look better.

Putting bike back together after top end rebuild, it's a 83 Heritage Special with stock carbs. Has single vacuum petcock with a T fitting that feeds both carbs. T fitting seems to be leaking on both sides going into carbs. Need a new fitting? or some sealer?

Doing a top end rebuild for the first time on my xs ,getting the rings compressed at the same time on both pistons as you put the cylinder on wasn't easy without a ring compressor. So I found some cable ties wide enough to cover the rings and snugged them up enough to compress the rings, but...

The bolt that holds the oil filter on the right side has a check valve. Should the screw be tightened till it stops or is the tension adjustable on the ball and spring? When I took mine out I noticed that the screw wasn't tight.
