What about the bolts on the sump cover? Factory are some sort of breakaway - I cannot find replacements. Are standard bolts OK?

Never really had any problems with Mikes. I kind of put him through the mill on my last order - but they came through. YOu just have to know that your parts are about a week away. So I always order extra of stuff I may need in the future.

Ok on the oil sump cover (under the engine) the bolts are "breakaway" style - I am not sure why - but new ones are hard to find. Any reason I can't just use normal metric bolts? I think they are 6mm torqued to 7 ft pounds. (10mm head). Also - has anyone else found the breakaway style the...

I have a buddy that wired a car horn on his Harley - I read somewhere that a car horn pulls too many amps for the electrical on an xs650 (1981).... Is that true or can I wire a louder car horn on my xs650? I know I would need a relay and fuse.

Bought this in 1981 with 50 miles on it. Did the paint myself last year. New Seat for Style - runs great 16K.
