Ok on the oil sump cover (under the engine) the bolts are "breakaway" style - I am not sure why - but new ones are hard to find. Any reason I can't just use normal metric bolts? I think they are 6mm torqued to 7 ft pounds. (10mm head).

Ok - I replaced the sump filter on my XS650 '81 2 years ago with the new style from Mikes that doesn't blow out. Now when I do oil changes - How often should I remove and inspect that sump filter? I do the regular on the side oil filter/screen on each oil change BTW - I am using the XS...
I have a buddy that wired a car horn on his Harley -
I read somewhere that a car horn pulls too many amps for the electrical on an xs650 (1981).... Is that true or can I wire a louder car horn on my xs650? I know I would need a relay and fuse.
