For Sale - amen savior frame

Just picked up this Amen Savior frame. I think it is for a CB 750/4 Honda. I think you could make anything fit in it if you have a welder, and imagination. I have a new un-mounted seat, and fender from the 70's that I would throw in. $450.00

    Brat done,42 next

78 Yamaha is done (sort of??) they're never really done. Now I'm cleaning, and organizing the shop to start the next project. These are body parts to a 1942 ford military truck that was repurposed into a camp truck years ago. I doubt that I will build another xs. That being said,I have tons of...

    yamaha bolt

Just got this months Motor Cyclist mag. Big write up on the Yamaha Bolt. They say they didn't set out to copy the Sportster but to make a 2013 version of the XS650. I'm not sure if that is what happened but it sure is a pretty bike!!

    My new ride??

Almost all done with tack welds, and part fitment. I might be able to break it all down in a week or so for finish weld, and paint. The seat you see on it now is for mock up. It is off an exercise bike. I want to take the bike to a shop, and have the seat done right. ]

    62 Shovel ????

Well, I pulled the trigger on a shovelhead today. The title says 62 but it's got an S&S shovel motor in it. The tranny is a ratchet top,and the frame looks to be as old as he says but nothing else is 62. I paid 2 grand, and he threw in a new twisted spoke 21" front wheel, and a set of steel bike...

    over drive 5th

Did a little looking, and didn't find an answer. the overdrive 5th that mike's sells says it fits 78,and up. I have a Dec.77 engine I would like to try this mod in. Does anyone know if this would be considered a 78. i really don't want to split the case for nothing. Is this a worth while mod...

    current project

These are photo's of my current project. I started with a bent frame. I cut the front section off. I bent a piece of 1 1/2 tube. I then cut under the engine ,and rolled the down tubes in. I tack welded this togeter to make a single down tube frame. I then cut the rear frame section, and rolled...

    tire balance

I have a rear tire that I'm being told is beyond balance. I laced and trued the wheel so should I break down the tire and see if the wheel balances without it ? It's 20 bucks everytime they put a wheel on the machine. I bought the tire last year so I would hate to throw out a new tire. Anyone...

    Uneven Chain Stretch

Hi all, I have a problem. At 53 mph my bike has a vibration. It goes away at a higher speed, or less speed. I don't know what rpm it comes on at 'cause I don't run a tach. I run an 18-34 sprocket combo, and have noticed a tight spot/loose spot in my chain. Could this change in chain tension at...

    The Mother Load

I got a call from a friend I have not heard from in years. I was on my way to Western NY. from Maine. He asked if I still played with xs 650's. I said yes, and he said do you want 8 more? His wife wants all the bikes he has been picking up over the years out of his barn. I stopped in and...

    Brat Project Photo

This is the new project in mock up. Its tack welded, and I'm thinking of stretching the front of the frame. I'm not sure if I like it yet. The other photo is of the yamagarage. The photo of the stocker, is a 77 that was given to me. ( free ). The p.o. tried to trade it in, and was told by the...

Electrical thing next to horn ???

Hi all, I picked up a 77 stocker, and it has something on it I have never seen before. Mounted with the horn is a silver box. The P.O. smashed it removing the horn ( so he said ). It is filled with some kinda ceramic stuff. It has a yellow/green wire, and a yellow wire. It says Koito 33911719 on...

Adding length to the front of a frame

Hey all, a while back we talked about fork lowering. The topic then came up of adding rake to the frame. I think it was Teebs who said ,make sure you go out and not up. If I follow the back bone of the frame out 6 inches, and add length to my lower frame legs and goose neck them out some...

    Output Shaft Oil Seal

Well, I'm back. I don't know what I'd do without this forum. How do y'all keep your output shaft seal from passing oil onto your sprocket? I put in a new seal, and it still puts oil on the sprocket, and oils the chain. I'm guessing this is something they all do because all the XS 650's I...

    Lower Front Forks

I've started my next build. I'm gonna try a brat style. My question is ,when I lower the rear,How do y'all lower your front forks ( short of moving them up in the trees ). Do you cut the springs, or change the springs ? I would love to hear how people do it.

    trans question

Got back from Americade, had to fix a seal. Now I'm gonna go over to Laconia for the week end. I am starting to feel a problem coming on. When I shift into 4th gear, it sometimes sucks itself into gear when I release the clutch. Can this be adjusted out, or is this something I'm going to have...
