No it snaps back really well. It just sits at idle and rpm will rise without any input from me

Got the bike running a while back, Needed new coils. And a new battery. So I replaced the plugs, and wires while I was at it. Runs like a top now, But rpm at idle seems to build and won't just stay at a nice idle.

So, I have a friend that has decided to rewire his xs850. rewired ignition system and tried to start, and NOTHING. Cranked but no spark. We have tried everything, but nothing. The charging system is not hooked up. Could that cause a problem? Any ideas of common screw ups would be awesome. Thanks

So, few problems. Electric starter was making terrible noises. Kind of a thunking, growl after cranking a couple seconds. So, took off right side cover and 4th gear. Squeezed wishbone spring to tighten it a little. Put it all back together and started, now the starter still makes noise, but it...
