Just curious, thinking about doing some longer distance riding, what to see how these bikes hold up on the highway.

I'd like to hear stories about long trips you guys have taken on your bikes and problems you ran into. Furthest I've traveled was on a 91 rigid Honda vt1100 was around a 1000 miles into New Mexico/Arizona..planned on going all the way to the West Coast..back wasn't playing nicely.

I know it's bike related but i didn't know were else to post! I'm driving my 1980xs650 with slight mods and very uncomfterble handlebars from Lynn ma to blairsville pa to see my wife and kids...So u know it's all or nothing haha lol. Has anyone else done some long trips with these bikes? And...

I subscribe to Motorcycle Classics mag and also they have an email newsletter they send that sometimes has some interesting stuff. Imagine riding from Kitty Hawk , NC to Santa Monica , CA on a 3300 miles odyssey on a pre 1916 bike? On a newer bike it would be quite a trip let alone on one...
