17/32 gear & new tires = huge improvement

You can go here http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tire-catalog/road/street/d404/

And get diameters of various tire sizes. Not always consistient from brand to brand, but working numbers anyway, and use the diameter figure to calculate circumference, which would be your rolling circumference, or distance traveled per revolution.

Thanks for the spreadsheet. Been using it against tire sizes to come up with a good sprocket ratio for keeping the revs down.

I would stay away from the 18 T front. I ran one and it was a pain in the ass period. The chain would drag on the shifter rod and never stay adjusted. I run 17 and 32 no problems now. :D

Thanks for the chart, Pete! Compared to stock wheel/tire/gearing, my 100/90R19 tire and 17/32 gearing only drops me ~400rpm at 60mph (if I'm reading the chart right). Doesn't sound like much, but throughout the gear range it's a noticeable improvement... I'm holding 4th gear a little longer, and 1st gear is much more useful around town.
