If you're running a chain guard upgrade that too with a Special, they're notched to run the wider tire.
The cut-out for the shocks is different on the Special chain guard as well because the shocks lay down at more of an angle on a Special. It may not fit quite right on a Standard. I ran into the opposite problem when fitting a TX750 chain guard (Standard type) to my Special. I had to "massage" it a little, lol .....
