Maxi maroon is a 77D color.

Thanks guys. I bought my original bike new in Australia. My mate and I bought ours together and his was red. Mine was a darker Maroon.....maybe brown-ish. But the decals are '76 style as you describe. Very old photo attached and difficult to identify exact colour.....but not red! I'll have to go dig up some other photos from the attic.
Never come across that colour for the 76.............Europe had some different colours..........Added this world Chart with colours for countries
