XS650 Enthusiast
Up for sale is my 1981 Yamaha XS 650 Cafe Racer project. I bought the bike about 3 months ago as a project. It was sitting in a garage for about 20 years (only has 10xxx miles) and I wanted to bring her back to life. Unfortunately I ran out of time before leaving for school to get her all wrapped up. My loss is your gain.
Whats been done so far:
Bike torn all the way down and frame was cleaned up and painted along with the engine, wheels, etc
Reflectors and brackets shaved off.
New cafe style bars
New clutch lever and perch
Fresh fork oil
Fresh engine oil
New oil filter
New Right side case and gasket
New left side case gasket
New Tail light with built in turn signals
New Battery
New Pod Filters
New rear brake shoes
New plugs and wires
New fuel filter
The BIG items
***New Tires***
***New Boyer Brandson Electronic Ignition***
***Carbs were PROFESSIONALLY rebuild, re jetted, and synced***
***New COMPLETE wiring harness***
***New Bronze Swingarm bushings, new swingarm bolt, seals, sleeve***
Bike needs
Turn signals
Gas cap (old ones rubber is hard and cracked)
Could use a fresh set of mufflers, original exhaust is rough
Motor needs re ringed, left side cylinder compression is low, which is why it wont run. Rings are only 35 bucks, I simply do not have the time now that I'm in college to fix it
I have almost all the stock parts for it still, has both kick and electric start both work.
Could be a sweet ride with a small amount of money and little bit of work
