650 stays revving high during idle

as i've ridden my 650 in the past few months i've noticed that if I rev while idling the bike will sometimes stay at whatever rpms I revved to. Sometimes it will just stay there and other times it will keep going up until I have to kill it. The bike runs great but just gets stuck idling. What could be wrong with it?

I know that the throttle cable isn't stuck anywhere it's pretty fluid...

Running lean...Maybe an intake leak...

that or your idle screw is adjusted wrong.

yup... I think the idle screw just did the trick. thanks!

If I remember correctly, it is a hot adjustment, so make sure your bike is at operating temp when you do it.
