72 xs650 headlight info

I just baught a 72 xs650, at a yard sale for $100, yep, and it's cherry. I had to coat the tank and clean the carbs, but no rust and no dents. I removed the vette fairing, but now need a headlight assembly. I've been watching ebay and even requested more info from a couple sellers about their listings, but no response. The thing I'm wondering is
will other years fit my 72, like maybe a 1980? The bucket opening has a diameter of
7 3/4. Any info will be helpful.

70 through 73? just the headlight or the bucket also?

The bucket is still on the bike, so I need all the rings plus the headlight.

I think the other rings can be made to fit BUT they are not the same shape, the new rings are fairly straight the old style rings taper in to the headlight. My 70 has a newer headlight in the old bucket.
