79 Yamaha XS750 Oil types?

So I just recently bought a 79’ Yamaha XS750 as my first bike. Had to put a little work into it to get it running but now that it’s running, I’m on to the last part of my journey before she’s road ready. Since I’m new to bikes I have a very silly question. What type of oil do I use in the mid and final gear? Do I use the same oil as the engine oil or do I use gear oil? I’ve checked as many forums as I can and even looked at a pdf of the manual and I still don’t understand

80/90 gear oil for the rear, as the vast majority of cars and bikes of the day used for the final drive.
I unrecall if the XS750 had a seperate oil compartment for the front bevel, I'm fairly sure it did, so 80/90 in there, too.
It might have used (shared) the engine oil, like the XJ900, for example.

On my GS1100GL I used Quicksilver outboard gear lube because I had it on hand for my boat.
So does that mean I can ride the GS1100gl into the lake? Not sure.
