Aluminum intake manifolds

I have a quick question here. I just bought some Mikuni VM34's and I also got some aluminum intake manifolds. I have always used the rubber ones but got tired of swapping them out so I up graded. On the rubber ones there is always a gasket between the intake boot and the intake valve on the engine. Will I still need this gasket when I switch over to aluminum intake manifolds?

If you want the new intakes to seal to the head, then yes.
Try it with out and let us know how that worked.

I'm not so sure I ran a gasket on my rubber intake manifolds with my VMs...

it has been a while however.

I ran them for a while with a oring . Mine have a groove cut into the manifold on the head side. You need some sort of gasket there.
