Got a VDO "Twistlock" voltmeter recently and fabbed a simple metal bracket to hold it between the speedo & tach. Tach is from an SR500 & has neutral, high beam and turn signal indicators to replace the pod on the later model Specials.

Looks good. That tach looks to have a 7000 rpm redline. Works for me.

Does look great, I thought of putting it where the ignition switch is and moving the switch to where nj1639 has his.

There is an XS650 gauge that has the 3 lights in it, but i am not telling

650skull,

Don't know why Yamaha put the ignition switch in such a prominent place. Once you turn it on, why do you have to keep looking at it?
