Anyone ever see this before?

2many you made me look! No oil passages there. That bearing is on the wet side and I guess yamaha figured splash is plenty.

I did see something I haven't noticed before.

LH side

RH side

seems like it's always been noted the RH side runs hotter.

Why are oil jets drilled on just one side????????????
Should we be drilling a second set?
A good heads up about filters, RTV use and rubber bits from the cam guide. Em are really tiny holes.

This should probably get it's own thread, but maybe it's been covered before?

Thread started here

Re. the hot right cylinder--some years back Michael Morse pointed out to me that all air cooled vertical twins run hotter on the primary side, for the simple reason that the primary side case cover is sealed and doesn't permit as much cooling from the cylinder base.

Yeah, I believe so. You've got an unusual one there. Brian902 would have a good story to add to that. PamcoPete posted on this a few years ago:

Maybe add to his thread? But, it would need a new, relevant title. Also, I saw a writeup on those crank squirters on another forum, as part of a oversize crankpin project. I believe this is indeed an overlooked and delicate area. I would be interested in knowing just how big those oil squirter orifices are, and their likelihood of getting clogged...
