I used to use an old mate of mine to get me log books from VIN numbers but as of last week hes told me its not possible for him to do so anymore, and does not know anyone else who can help.

Basically ive purchased an xs 650 in a crate, dismantled for 20 years, rusty as they come but its a 1972

i have the frame no :
and the engine no : but no log book or reg plate

Can anyone on here give any information as how i can apply for a logbook?
Or find out what the reg plate is for this bike, so i cn fill in a V62 form and get a logbook

Hi XS-UK. Has the bike been registered in the UK before or is it an unknown? I have always found the DVLA very helpful when I have called with similar problems and I believe you have to write to them with the frame number. I'd try phoning customer enquiries on 0300 790 6802 first. Hope this helps

All you used to do was get a dating certificate from the serial numbers, mot the bike, insure it on the serial numbers, take these documents to the dvla and they gave you an age related plate.
