back hub help needed

Hi,
Nathan Lovern here,getting to spring time and i got a new back tire for my 82 XS,and i noticed a part of one of my casting webs in wheel was missing, (quarter sized) and where my brake shoes make contact has alot of grooves, one is deep.
I noticed my back brakes always squeeked, guess aluminul casting piece got ground up and groved drum and shoes.
Is the wheel unsafe now? I can take dremel to drum and smooth out groves and get more shoes.
I looked on ebay, back wheeles are expensive :-(,

Find a hub thats been taken out of the rim, and relace. it might be cheaper.
