bike will only run on choke,

im new to this forum have just bought my first xs650 café racer, bike starts on choke but as soon as you take it off bike cuts out, ive cleaned carbs but still no joy ANY IDEAS PLEASE

Once the choke circuit is shut off, the engine has to run on the pilot circuit. Your pilot circuit is likely blocked. It could be that the pilot jet itself is plugged...............its a very small orifice. Also could be that the mixture screw is blocked or closed in too far.
