blinker issues

I am running a very bare bones wiring system with blinkers and all I have is the flasher relay.
I turn the blinkers on and the light stays solid.
Does the yellow and red wire from the flasher relay have to be hooked to something or is it a bad relay.

Are you using LED's?

Or are you using just rear blinkers? If so get an automotive flasher relay.

not using LED.
and yes only running rear for now.

try a #552 flasher. A couple bucks at any auto store. There should be a brown and brown/white wire at the flasher. Those are what the two prong flasher gets plugged into. Brown is switched 12v and brown/white to the bar switch.

with only one light you're not drawing enough amps to heat up your bimetallic shiznit in that blinker.
