Brake Warning/stop light checker

My 1975 has "brake" and "stop light" warning lights.
This annoys me for two reasons,,,they are there and they insult my intelligence, I know when the brakes need work and I check my lights each time I ride.
I will just remove them and all the associated wiring BUT before I do , wil it bugger anything up,,,,dont think it will but just checking before I get out the snips

If you go to all that, you may as well go all out and rip all the wiring out and start from scratch.
I did. Bikes never been better.

Short answer: Yes you can unplug it. You do have to jumper a couple of wires to restore tail light function, I can double check and tell you which if you like.
