I just put an engine together - getting ready to put it in the bike when I found that the "breather plate" was still on the bench. What are the problems faced if I run the bike without the bp installed?:wtf::banghead:

do you meen the folded steal baffle ? if so, no problem. others have found it after a rebuild too. It helps collect oil mist before being pushed out the breather.

Thanks for the response. Yes, that's the culprit. Do I understand that it's not a big deal if it's not in place? Or, will there be a large amount of oil coming from the breather?

if your rings are in good shape, no excess oil. if you have too much oil, it could come out there. A tube to the ground would keep motor clean.

That plate is a baffle. It slows the air flow through the breather, this helps the oil mist condense into oil droplets and these weigh more so tend to drop back into the engine instead of blowing out the breather.
You can run without one, just don't forget it the next time.
