BS38 on an 81

Quick question, would a set of bs38s work well on my 81 650? Also would i be better off with the bs34$

The 1976-1979 linked BS38s will work well.

You need the BS38 intakes as well then they are bolt in. Not sure if they will work with the stock 81 air box though. Both linked BS 38s and BS34s work well once they are sorted [cough] with new throttle shaft seals.

There is about 3/8" difference on length/depth. Either one won't work with the others air boxes as supplied stock.
One of the reasons BS34 owners complain about the hassle of removing them.
The 38's are on the right with a plastic ruler laid on the throat.

I have a set of airboxes in the classifieds that are off a set of BS38's if you are in need.
