Building a reliable bike. (questions)

In the next month or two I will be ready to start tearing down my bike (82xs). I have been doing alot of research here and other sites. I'm thinking before I tear it down I should go ahead and swap in a Pamco ignition then do a PM charging system conversion (kickstart only) using the smallest batt. possible or condenser (which would be the better option and why??)
Once I get these done then tear down the bike hardtail it, rake it and rewire it. Is there anything I'm missing or should change to make my bike more reliable. I want to be able to get on it and ride.

I do exactly that. Pamcopete ignition, and a PM System. Here is a link for the PM system swap. Minimal wiring on both systems, and proven reliability... Even if you have a dead short in lighting or something and drain the battery, you can still kickstart it to life... Thats a nice benefit...
