I want to run something by you guy's.

I'm doing shaft seals. Of course the butterfly screws stripped. I've read numerous thread's on which screws to get.

5twins likes the stainless. But they are a little long. Weekendrider likes the flat head hardware store screws. But I'm worried those may rust.

I want to know what you guys think about doing it like this. It won't hurt my feelings,,,,much,,, if you don't like my idea.

I can get these fuel tank emblem screws which are off of my 82 Suzuki. I'm hoping they won't rust since they are made to be exposed to the weather. Part #02122-0306B

Kinda hard to see, but the emblem screw is just ever so slightly below flush. The longer screw is the hardware store screw which is 8mm long.

So I thought about using this spring loaded punch to stake the screws along with some blue loctite. Which BTW,, motorcyclecarbs.com says to assemble with blue or purple loctite. They offer screws too, but $$$.

I think the center punch would fit in the gap just right to stake the screw. At least that's what I'm thinking. What do you guy's think.

As far as what ever screws you choose, I think the spring loaded punch might be a good idea.

Opinion's please.
