Hi all,
I'm getting my cafe project together and would like to know which shocks I should go with. The stock wheel on my 81 special was 16" but I've upgraded to an 18" with spoke kit from mikesxs. I'd like to really give it a cafe look and I'm not sure what size shocks I should use. Any suggestions and help will be appreciated. Thanks

Stock shocks are about 12 5/8" or 12 3/4" long. Most of us go a bit longer, somewhere in the 13"-14" range. Go much over 14" and you run the risk of chain rub at the swingarm pivot.

I'm setting mine up with stock length Hinckley Bonneville shocks which are a shade over 13" long cause I had a set laying around and they look good. Thruxton length shocks are a shade over 14". I think the official lengths are 337mm and 360mm.
