Hello, i just recently rebuilt top half of motor, i have it put back together, how do i adjust the cam chain and how do i tell that it is adjusted enough or to much? I rebuilt motor do to it had a blown head gasket or atleast thats how i bought the bike.

This is how I adjust mine. I warm the engine up ( just back from riding). I remove the adjuster cover...........yeah its hot! With the engine idling, I turn in the adjuster (10 mm wrench) until it stops moving, then I back off the adjuster 3 flats. There will now be small in and out motion..............maybe .030" to .060" just a guess. That's it, very simple.
