Cam Chain Adjustment

So I want to adjust my cam chain on my bike, can this be done with out tearing the motor apart? I'm getting some loud noise and I'm thinking need to adjust the cam chain
I have a 75 xs. If anyone could explain it or send me a link that would be awesome!

Just use the "Search" function in upper right corner. Type in "cam chain tension adjustment" or similar. Its done with the engine hot and idling.
