Hello,
I am about to start putting a 256 back together, it seems like it had a B type tension (6 bolt) on a 4 bolt jug. The tensioner has damage on the rubber part that the end of the rod pushes against so I need to replace it. Should I replace it with the latest version of tensioner and continue using 4 bolts to hold it in place or do I need to revert to the original 4 bolt version? It looks like there was some sort of cam chain failure at some stage.
Thank you for all advice

Hey Nickl, welcome to the forum.
I'm also in '256' land, so will be watching this thread.
Some squashing of the tensioner pad is tolerable. If you could post a clear/detailed pic of your tensioner, might be able to determine if it's still servicable...
